Queens, NY
We've been doing our thing out in Queens, with BeliefNYC, since the fall of 2013, and we were so excited for our 4th Annual contest this year! Between the local homies killing it, the college skaters that traveled from out of state and the college students of the five boroughs, the crowd was there and stoked for the big contest!
Students came from Oakland University (near Detroit), UMass Amherst (Western Massachusetts), and all over greater New York City and Long Island for the event. We were glad to have MONSTER hooking up beverages, the Belief crew & ex-student competitors judging, and our friend Billy Rohan on the mic! Billy as our MC brought the hype despite the wet weather - shout out to Samurai!
Throughout the day, there was light rain, so the park was wet in certain areas, but that did NOT stop the homies from coming out to Astoria Park and KILLING it! With STUDENT and NON-STUDENT divisions this year, this is who ended up on top:
Non-Student Division:
1. Andrew Valencia
2. Humza Deas
3. Derek Holmes
Student Division:
1. Rey Tapley, studying at UMass Amherst (University of Massachusetts at Amherst)
2. Brandon Johnson, studying at BMCC (Borough of Manhattan Community College)
3. Joshua Boody, studying at ACTVF (Academy for Careers in Television & Film)
Following the main attraction, we did a quick best trick jam on the out-ledge, and it was absolutely crushed. Particularly by:

- Cooper Ackley
- Derek Holmes
